Background:

Dr. To grew up in Hong Kong and moved to the United States when he was 15 years old. He completed his advanced neurosurgery and neuroendovascular surgery training locally at Ascension Providence Hospital - Southfield. He practiced at St. Francis Hospital Park in Memphis, Tennessee, for more than three years before returning to Michigan because his wife is from Detroit. He specializes in the treatment of neurovascular disorders through endovascular or open surgical approaches. Dr. To also performs minimally invasive spine surgery as well as a full spectrum of neurosurgical procedures for injuries, tumors, degenerative and infective diseases of the spine and brain. He has authored several research studies and presented on topics including acute ischemic stroke, epidural spinal cord compression, brain aneurysms, and acute cervical internal carotid artery dissection. Dr. To also developed a book chapter on Cerebrospinal fluid: Physiology and Biomarkers and was a reviewer for the World Journal of Surgical Oncology. When he is not treating patients, Dr. To likes to travel, cook and has a passion for race cars.
