"A good doctor can know how to treat illness. A great doctor knows how to treat patients. The difference is the ability to listen, to be humble, to pay attention to the details - as well as what the patient is saying and feeling - and a personal drive for expertise. To me, and to my father before me, being a doctor is about human understanding."
Dr. Amjad and his colleagues offer personalized ear, nose and throat care – including surgery - for adults and children. He was exposed to medicine at an early age, while spending time in his father’s Manhattan otolaryngology practice. It was there that he realized that knowledge could help people in a direct, tangible way, and there that he decided to follow in his father's footsteps. He pursued research in medical school but soon returned to clinical medicine, feeling that it was his true calling. Residency training brought him to Detroit in 2001, and he has called it home ever since. In his free time, he enjoys family time and sports.
