"When I meet a patient for the first time, we review his or her family history, results from physical exams, and imaging studies. There are so many options for treatment, and it's imperative for my patients to be educated about both surgical and non-invasive plans of care. I feel very grateful that I am able to do what I love each and every day, which is to use my expertise to help patients stay active."
Dr. Nzoma is a sports medicine and orthopedic surgery specialist who believes in improving patient health through innovative surgical techniques and patient education. In addition to minimally-invasive surgeries, Dr. Nzoma also practices general orthopedics, including mending broken bones and performing shoulder, hip and knee replacements. The physicians at DMC Sports Medicine work together to provide care for casual athletes, club sports players, and professional athletes. They are also the only group in Detroit that provides care for multiple professional sports teams, including the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings, and Detroit Grand Prix.
Outside the office, Dr. Nzoma works with non-profits to educate the public about sports injury prevention and body mechanics. He and his wife, also a physician, have two children. When he is not treating patients or spending time with family, he plays basketball and golf, lifts weights and participates in high intensity interval training.
