Philosophy of Care:

As a family medicine practitioner, Dr. Tony Abood understands the patient’s perspective and practices in such a way that incorporates the patient by listening to them and their families. He works to devise a care plan that fits each individual patient to achieve the best possible outcome. While growing up in Joplin, Missouri, Dr. Abood was diagnosed with leukemia at a young age and spent much of his childhood in and out of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Spending so much time around specialists, who helped him battle his illness, inspired him to become a physician. Dr. Abood credits the many physicians he encountered as a child with molding him into the physician he is. He later moved to Michigan to achieve his dream of attending Michigan State University for his undergrad and then fulfilled his ultimate dream of attending medical school there. Dr. Abood is fellowship trained in geriatric medicine and specializes in diagnosing and treating memory loss, fall revention/maintaining mobility, wound care, and medication management. In addition to chronic care and acute care management, he performs minor in-office procedures and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment. When Dr. Abood is not seeing patients, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and young daughter who loves keeping her parent’s busy.
